IELTS is an English language exam that is required to be taken by international candidates for working or studying abroad. The exam mainly measures the ability of candidate in four basic format of English language skills: listening, reading, speaking, and writing.

Major countries where IELTS exam is accepted as proof of English language proficiency are the UK, Australia, New Zealand, USA, and Canada. It is approved by 100% all universities in the UK and Australia. It is also accepted by more than 11,000 organizations in over 140 countries. These include institutions in US & thousands of institutions in other English speaking countries.

IELTS is available on 48 fixed dates in a year (four times a month). The duration of IELTS exam is 2 hours and 45 minutes. Because of the pandemic, IELTS online tests and IELTS indicators are available at your convenience.

The Academic and General tests require the same fees. When you apply online, you will get the notification about fee. Fees may vary based on location.

Your test report will be posted to you in 13 days after your test date. SMS alerts and Online Results Service are also available. Keep your Test Report Form secure as you will receive only one copy.

The request for a remark can be done within 6 weeks of the IELTS test date on your Test Report Form. You can request a remark for the complete test or for any specific parts (Reading, Writing, Listening or Speaking). Your reviewed results will be available within 2 to 21 days There is a charge for an enquiry on IELTS test results (EOR), This amount will be refunded to you if your score increases for any section of the test.

If you need to cancel or postpone your test, a minimum of five weeks' notice must be given. With less than five weeks' notice no money will be refunded or also not able to transfer your test date, other than for medical reasons.

If you are absent on the test day without any prior information, you will lose your full amount.

There is no limit for the retest. However, it is recommended to prepare well before taking the test again.

You will take the Listening test initially, followed by the Reading and Writing tests (there are no breaks between those tests). Speaking test will be conducted either on the same day or one week before or after depending on local arrangements.

IELTS is an international English test format that covers from all major countries of English (American, Australian and British).

Due to changes in the Citizenship Act in Canada,from 2015 onwards the minimum age that applicants have to prove their language proficiency for Canadian citizenship is between the ages of 14-64 .

There is no limit for attempting IELTS exam .However, you have to pay the IELTS test fee for every attempt.

There are no education criteria for IELTS set by the conducting bodies of IELTS.

The score is valid upto 2 years.
